I can't seem to get used to the idea of doing nothing yet GOD wants me to wait. Well I have read many articles about waiting on GOD and most tend to add their opinion about the scripture that say be still and wait upon the Lord. Being still means being still. rightly put it means relax. Say you are looking for a job and you send 50 applications where is GOD in that. IF you would ask the Lord to guide you usually GOD will tell you what to do or he may direct you to apply for a specific job or even you may not need to apply and wait the Job finds you. My friends GOD operates on instructions. He tell you what to do then you obey and he does wonders for you.His instruction are specific for that particular situation.
Take Abraham and Issac they faced a similar situation but GOD gave them different instructions there was a severe drought in Canaan for Abraham he was told to go to Egypt. on the other hand when Isaac faced drought he was told to stay in the land and GOD prospered him there. GOD is only limited by us. You need rain to reap a harvest but Isaac reaped in drought.
When GOD say wait he means wait. Now some try to say do not just sit and wait. Well lets look at Abraham he was told he will have a child by Sarah but time went then he decides to help GOD by sleeping with the maid why he was looking at his own ability and Sara's that they were growing old Abraham figured out that soon he was going to be well too old to make a woman conceive. But the instructions were simple wait literally wait upon GOD. now to you that insist on telling people to do something all the time I guess we can say you limit GOD.God is not into formulas, but He is into relationship. He is a God of intimacy, not rituals.What worked one time may not be the way God intends for you to fight to win this time. Can GOD tell some one to sit and wait yeah for starters He told me not to work when I tried to do some business without waiting on his instructions the people I was doing business with never gave me my share. Is it harsh for GOD to do that? no. can GOD do that? yeah. But I can assure you saints I have never gone hungry no not a single day. Life has been tough but what do you expect when you are in the desert you eat manna.
let me give a biblical example of Elijah he went and hid himself being fed by a ravens now he wasn't doing anything else other than waiting and seeking GOD's face. Till water run dry instructions came telling him to move to a widow.
Lets look at David he was a shepherd of his fathers sheep yet GOD made him to be king over all Israel. If you read Samuel you can see that David is called a man after GOD's heart. One of the ways David touched GODs heart was when he refused to kill GOD's anointed waiting for his time. He waited for his time. Saul was delivered to Davids hand but he refused to kill him why? as he rightly put it wait upon the Lord I say wait upon the Lord.
Another one is Joseph thrown in a prison what works did he do other than seat and rot in a prison until the appointed time. GOD sometimes will test us with something that looks like it is the right thing to do. Just because it feels right does not mean it is from GOD. Always seek GOD for his opinion no matter how trivial the issue is to you.
Well what I'm I driving at should you just sit and wait well if your instructions are those then please be still and wait. You see when you're waiting, you're not doing nothing. You're doing one of the most important something there is do. You're allowing your character to grow up. If you can't be still and wait, you can't become what God created you to be. Many Christians have lost out on GOD's best because they could not wait. You see GOD is faithful because it is his nature. So he will still provide for you but he can not force you if you insist on moving when its not your time to move.
News flash GOD is doing a new thing now get in line with his perspective for you becoming something out of seemingly nothing. As they say do not move without checking with GOD and do not fail to move after checking with GOD and when you move let GOD lead. Follow the leading of the spirit. The greatest problem is we are trying to teach each other about GOD that is the HOLY SPIRITS job. It is written in Hebrews:8:10:11 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
notice it says no need to teach each other about GOD.
GOD wants an intimate relationship with you where you and JESUS become one spirit. In that way the holy spirit is the one tasked with revealing JESUS (GOD) to you not your pastor nor any televangelist they only know a tiny part of JESUS nature the church is the body of JESUS. JESUS is so big, his nature will take us eternity to comprehend. GOD wants to bless you beyond your imagination just don't follow rituals but be intimate with GOD and listen to his voice. He is about to come and he is doing new things. Things are being accelerated if you follow his instruction you will overtake even your pastors or those who were in Christ long before you. Stop limiting GOD and wait upon him.
One last thing Hebrews 6:12 says We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience(waiting) inherit what has been promised. there is a big difference between laziness and waiting on GOD. Let the HOLY SPIRIT lead that is all I am saying. GOD bless you.

How to hear from GOD
Joh:10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Once you start to walk with JESUS he tend to speak a lot. I sometimes can not tell you how I come to know but I just know sometimes I hear GOD speak in the radio, on TV, peoples text I mean every where once you start to pay attention. GOD is really everywhere. One time I told the missus GOD was saying so and so she was like how did you know I told her I heard on the radio. Well she rolled up her eyes like saying yeah right. Next time we went to church guess what the preacher was saying exactly what I was saying I heard. I don’t know how I discern the best way to explain it is how JESUS put it my sheep know my voice.
Here are a few ways to hear from GOD
Scripture: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17). A sure way to know GOD’s will in our life is to read the scriptures they reveal who GOD is and his character. As you read the scriptures always ask GOD to reveal his word to you and he does. GOD is HOLY and anything not in line with his nature do not pursue it.
The Holy Spirit speaking to our heart: "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, and everyone his brother, saying, 'know the Lord,' for all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them" (Hebrews 8:10-11). One of the best way to figure out if GOD is speaking to you is to write down the thoughts that come through your head then go and examine them checking with what the scripture say about GOD. As an example( A friend to a homeless person tells that homeless person I feel sorry to see you living at your parents house I have been thinking what to do maybe I should pay rent for you up to four to six months but then what happens after that. That is typical HOLLY SPIRIT is speaking to the concerned friend heart to pay for that homeless friend for four to six months period. What happens after is GOD’s business, don’t logically think through GOD’s instruction. Most times we think it’s our thoughts when it is GOD speaking.
Dreams and Visions: Nu :12:6: And he said, Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. One day I felt in my spirit that the LORD was telling me to give our clothes all away (The Holy Spirit speaking to our heart ). So I told my wife what I felt the lord was saying she was skeptical then she meets this other woman of GOD who tells her I feel the LORD is asking you to give something (Confirmation). Then she knew GOD was really speaking then at night she had a dream where in the dream she gave all her clothes to a neighbor friend (Dreams and Visions). In the end I gave all our clothes to the church and she gave her best clothes to our neighbor friend and the rest to the church.
The Prophetic (word of knowledge, personal prophecy): "Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good" (I Thessalonians 5:19-21). One day I received a call from one of our pastors telling me and my wife to go with him to formally welcome some men of GOD who had come for a convention and preaching. He told me he had called four other people but they refused I jumped at the opportunity I thought I might learn a thing or two. Once there we were just talking about JESUS. All of a sudden one of the men of GOD started prophesying great things about our lives and told us what to do when we come against difficult situations lock yourself in a room and just worship. There you can see that GOD was telling us that victory was coming but challenges will be there and what to do when challenges come.
Confirmation: ("By the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed" (Matthew 18:16)). This is one of the most powerful of GOD’s way to speak to us this is one of the great ways to know GOD has really spoken to you. GOD will always confirm his word. When some one prophesy on you, go pray about it and God will confirm either through another prophet or a dream or vision or a connection. GOD knows that most people have problems figuring out what GOD is saying and he confirms his word to you through two or three witnesses.
The peace of God: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15). When you have peace with what you want to do then the Holy Spirit is leading you to go ahead. Personally when ever I am going somewhere if my heart starts beating fast I always know that something up ahead is not right. Imagine you are looking for a job there are two and when you think of the one you have peace but when you consider the other you have that bad feeling.
Circumstances/Timing: "After these things he (Paul) left Athens and went to Corinth. And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, having recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. He came to them, and because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and they were working; for by trade they were tent-makers" (Acts 18:1-3 this relationship between Paul, Aquila and Priscilla was a result of circumstances. It is said there are no coincidences for those that are in Christ in fact there is no word coincidence in Hebrew for the Jews. All things are arranged by GOD. GOD connects us people for a season or a for reason. Like they say Some friends are there for a reason and others are there for a season.
