Jesus did it all my brother my sister on the cross. As difficult as it is to understand sometimes but that is the truth of the matter. However man loves to compare with others and it is this behavior that makes some feel better and superior to others. As evidenced by a Pharisee who went into the temple and started comparing himself the other guy. While the other guy went into the church and humbled himself before God and confessed his faults and asked God for forgiveness.
God on the cross changed all that and brought about one requirement, that is to only believe in Jesus Christ and His finished work.
It has taken me along time to comprehend the truth that God deals with us based on what Jesus done and not on our own works. In fact Christianity is the only religion with a savior. Yet many Christians have no idea of this truth. One of the reasons to this effect is miss understanding of the old testament and why it was given. Thanks be to God for now we are in the new testament and God is dealing with us in mercy. Not that God overlooked our sin but that sin was dealt with once and for all on the cross.
Jesus took your sin, my sin and the sin of the whole world and the punishment that was meant for me was dealt on Jesus. Jesus paid in full my debt to God. When God sees me He sees Jesus and the blood that was shed for me. As the bible says we are new creatures a whole brand, new species that never existed before. My new identity is in Christ Jesus that is why it is impossible to separate us Christians from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
When we pray that's why we pray and ask in the name of Jesus, meaning we pray as if it was Jesus himself praying to God with all his track record, accomplishments. Do not let the devil rob you of your identity which is in Christ Jesus, Do you know that with or without sin you can approach the throne of God boldly because God deals with us through Jesus. I am not advocating sin and please do not sin, it only open a door for the devil to mess with you. Just remember when God sees you He sees Jesus Christ in you the hope of Glory. You can now leave in victory everyday.
